What is the meaning of working software? Part 2

How important is the functionality of your online service for your business?

At Slush 2015, we had the privilege to interview some of the top software developers from Finland and abroad. They shared their insights on topics varying from software’s reliability and functionality to the importance of a spotless user-experience. Software’s future was also a hot topic, as the interviewees engaged in conversation about the future trends and possibilities in software development. In this second part, we focus on:

Functionality

Without a doubt, functioning software is crucial for any company with an online business. But what does functionality mean in practice? Professionals from Tellyo, Adyen and Solu share their views on the matter and discuss the significance of functional software for their business.

Tellyo is a Finnish startup and developer of Tellyo Pro and Grab and Share services. With Tellyo Pro reporters can create video clips from any live video and publish in real-time in their articles and across social media. Grab and Share allows TV viewers to capture highlights from television and share to friends in social media. Tellyo customers include top media companies in five countries.

Adyen is a global payment provider combining a unique approach by having acquiring, processing and payment gateway services offered via one single platform for both online and in-store payments.

Solu is creating a radically new approach to computers which removes hassle and maintenance headaches, while allowing people and teams to work together fluidly. Users no longer need to install and update applications, or worry about hard drive space and backups, but they can share content and applications freely with one another in organic spaces. They have packaged it into a small pocket device that can be used on the go or connected to an external display.
